KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT

From Scattered Information
to Structured Knowledge

Your team has done the research. The insights exist. So why does finding them still take an hour of digging through folders, Slack threads, and half-remembered file names?

Content Steady turns scattered research, documents, and institutional knowledge into structured systems your team can actually search, trust, and reuse: research libraries, knowledge bases, taxonomies, and metadata frameworks, built to fit how your organization actually works, not a generic template.

If your team handles complex information, specialized terminology, large document collections, or data that has to be accurate and easy to retrieve, this is the problem we solve every day.

LIBRARY SCIENCE CONSULTANT

Built by a Librarian Who Also Works as a Consultant

Content Steady was founded by Kristi Dement, a knowledge management consultant with a Master of Library Science and more than 15 years of experience organizing information.

Kristi worked as a librarian before expanding into content strategy, publishing support, research synthesis, information architecture, and digital knowledge systems. That combination is rare: most consultants know the strategy side but not the information science behind it, and most librarians know the information science but not how to apply it inside a business. Content Steady exists because organizing knowledge well requires both.

The result: systems grounded in library science principles, then shaped by real consulting experience with how teams actually search, write, and work.

OUR SERVICES

Specialized Solutions for Complex Information

Every engagement starts with understanding what you have.

From there, we build only what your organization actually needs.

Knowledge Audits & Content Inventories

Shows you exactly what information you have, where it lives, how it's used, and where the gaps and duplicates are hiding, so you know precisely where to start.

Organized folders, documents, tags, checklists, and a magnifying glass representing a knowledge audit and content inventory.
Taxonomy hierarchy connecting organized folders, content categories, metadata fields, and descriptive tags.

Taxonomy & Metadata Development

Builds the consistent categories, terms, and tags that make your content easy to filter, search, and reuse, including controlled vocabularies and classification systems.

Research Library Design

Turns scattered articles, reports, and files into one searchable library, complete with folder structures, naming conventions, tags, and maintenance guides.

Policies, procedures, training materials, and internal resources organized into a searchable knowledge base.
Documentation, templates, and workflow steps organized into a repeatable system with checklists, process maps, and maintenance controls.

Documentation & Workflow Design

Research & Evidence Summaries

Distills complex material into clear, reliable reports and reference documents built for specialized professional and research teams.

Research reports, source documents, charts, and verified findings organized into clear evidence summaries for professional teams.

AI-Ready Source Organization

Prepares your trusted content to perform well with AI tools for research, writing, and knowledge tasks, with accuracy and traceability built in from the start.

THE PAYOFF

What Changes Once Your Knowledge Is Organized

Research is easier to find, so teams stop duplicating work that has already been completed.

Everyone uses the same terms, categories, definitions, and naming conventions.

Reliable sources are easier to identify, verify, update, and reuse with confidence.

Important content stays accurate, current, organized, and ready when it is needed.

Institutional knowledge remains available when experienced employees leave the organization.

New employees find trusted information faster and become productive much sooner.

OUR PROVEN PROCESS

How We Work Together

Filed the way a librarian would file it: in order, with nothing skipped.

Understand

We learn what information exists, where it lives, who uses it, and what they need to accomplish.

Assess

We identify gaps, duplication, inconsistent terms, search problems, and ongoing maintenance needs.

Design

We create a practical system that fits your content, workflows, users, daily needs, and long-term priorities.

Document

We provide clear standards, instructions, and guidance so the system stays useful and consistent.

Every project is handled with strict attention to accuracy, consistency, and quality control, especially with sensitive or highly specialized information.

WHO WE WORK BEST WITH

Built for Organizations Managing Information

Consultants

Educational Institutions

Professional Service Firms

Research Organizations

A consulting practice's accumulated frameworks, an educational institution's library, a professional services firm's client work, and a research organization's evidence base: different fields, same underlying problem. Valuable knowledge that nobody can find, reuse, or trust. If that sounds like your organization, this is exactly where we do our best work.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before You Reach Out

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know exactly what I need before contacting you?

No. Most clients arrive knowing something is broken, not the technical name for the fix. Part of the first conversation is helping you identify the real starting point, whether that's an audit, a taxonomy, or something else entirely.

What does a typical engagement look like?

Every project follows the same four stages: Understand, Diagnose, Design, and Document. The scope and timeline are shaped around your organization's size, complexity, and goals, which we scope together before any work begins.

Can you work with sensitive or confidential information?

Yes. We regularly work with private, specialized, & highly detailed information for consultants, research organizations, and professional services clients, with accuracy, consistency, and careful quality control built into every stage.

Do you only build systems for humans, or also for AI tools?

Both. Our AI-Ready Source Organization service applies the same information science principles to prepare your trusted content for research, writing, and knowledge tasks performed with AI tools, with traceability built in.
